Webinar on sampling via Social Networking Sites at the European Union Agency for Asylum (EUAA)

2022-02-242022-03-12

It was my pleasure to give a talk entitled “Survey recruitment of (forced) migrants through targeted advertisements on Facebook and Instagram” in the internal seminar series of the EUAA Research Programme. I want to thank the colleagues at the European Union Agency for Asylum for the invitation, their interest in our research, and the inspiring discussion.
My presentation mainly built on a recent feasibility study in which Bernd Weiß and I, together with Jens Hellmann and Gerald Echterhoff (both University of Münster), investigated to which extent Facebook and Instagram could be used to sample and survey Arabic speaking refugees in Germany. I drew additional empirical evidence from our previous research on German emigrants, professionals in the German health sector, and Polish migrants.
